Who says blondes have all the fun?
Sydney Sweeney decided to keep a low profile during her visit to Santa Monica Pier, using a dark brown wig with bangs to hide her well-known blonde locks.
The 29-year-old star of “Euphoria” credited her friend Jayde Emory Hafner for the wig, posting a series of photos from their day out, captioning it, “when ur bestie shows up and says ‘here put this wig on’ 😂🥰.”
The two friends enjoyed various activities at the amusement park, including spending time in the arcade, taking selfies on rides, and indulging in some chicken tenders and fries under the sun.
Sweeney looked the part of a casual day-tripper in a Santa Monica souvenir T-shirt, denim shorts, and white sneakers. However, her choice of accessories—large diamond studs, expensive Bottega Veneta sunglasses, and a chic Row bag—might have made her a little too recognizable.
During their outing, Sweeney also attempted the “Hang Time” challenge, holding herself up on a pull-up bar for a full minute.
Fans had a bit of fun with her disguise on social media. One commenter quipped, “That you Hannah Montana?” while another noted, “I didn’t even recognize her.” Hafner’s husband joked about their appearance, saying they looked like “a couple of small town sisters on their big California vacation 🎡😆.”
This isn’t the first time Sweeney has tried a darker hairstyle. She sported a brown mullet wig while filming “Christy” and wore a black bob for the 2024 Met Gala. Last October, she made a significant change by cutting her long blonde hair into a stylish chin-length cut, though she seems to have reverted back to longer waves recently. It’s clear from her post that the brunette wig was more of a fun temporary choice.
