Mets’ offseason acquisitions Luis Severino, Sean Manaea have paid big dividends
The Mets have been excited to watch both Luis Severino and Sean Manaea, whom they signed as essentially projects last offseason, develop into healthy and effective members at the front of the starting rotation. But the team appears in no rush to make any decisions regarding the futures of its two most consistent starters. Severino […]
Sean Manaea, Francisco Lindor lead Mets to sweep of White Sox
CHICAGO — It's been three uninspired days of matches, but there's still value in it. The Mets arrived on the South Side with no acceptable options other than to sweep this mess of a team called the White Sox, and they got the job done Sunday, but with few points in terms of style. Sean […]
Sean Manaea has made himself a Mets priority
Players are sometimes faced with tough choices when faced with the decision to opt out at the end of the year. That’s not the case for Sean Manaea. His decision was not a difficult one. The new Mets ace would certainly void the clause in his contract that would make him $13.5 million in 2025 […]

The left-hander walked four batters in just 4 2/3 innings, forcing his already overworked relief pitchers to pitch four more innings. “The […]
Sean Manaea will get first Mets’ start after All-Star break
Mets officials were still working out plans for the starting rotation to begin the second half of the season on Wednesday, but decided Sean Manaea would take the mound on Friday night against the Marlins. Manaea will start the first of a four-game series in Miami, and the left-hander will face the Yankees in the […]
Sean Manaea continues Mets rotation’s strong July in win
The Mets’ strong July has been due to the performance of their starting rotation pitchers. Five pitchers — Luis Severino, Jose Quintana, David Peterson, Christian Scott and Sean Manaea — have been in good form recently, posting a combined 2.79 ERA in 12 starts this month with 24 walks and 50 strikeouts in 74 ⅓ […]
