Nestor Cortes ‘upset’ over Yankees bullpen move despite sharp outing: ‘Now they do this’
If a disgruntled Nestor Cortes pitches like that, the Yankees will accept it. Even if it turns out to be only temporary, Cortes wasn't too happy about the Yankees moving him to the bullpen for one inning of the rotation. Gerrit Cole twirls his first scoreless outing of year as Yankees blank Tigers
DETROIT — There was legitimate concern when Gerrit Cole was removed from the starting lineup on trade deadline day for what the Yankees called “general fatigue.” Whatever moves the club made that day, nothing would have come close to the impact a healthy Cole could have late in the season and into October. After three […]
David Peterson sets tone in Mets’ win with another sharp outing
David Peterson set the tone for the Mets on Wednesday night, spearheading an impressive offense that Pete Alonso described as “just electric.” Peterson, who has the lowest ERA (3.04) among Mets starting pitchers, helped the Mets’ offense explode for a 9-1 victory at Citi Field, halting a four-game losing streak and stoking the Athletics’ offense […]
