Tarek El Moussa said he lived in a half-house after splitting from Christina Hall in 2016 because he “couldn't believe” he was “alone.”
“When my ex left me, I went to some soul-searching places,” he says. He spoke on the podcast “The Jeff Fenster Show.'' Monday. “Actually, I lived in a half house. This is my first time sharing it.”
The Flipping El Moussas star, 42, later revealed that she voluntarily entered the halfway house because she was skeptical about being alone.
“The reason I ended up there was because I didn't know where to go and needed 24-hour care,” Moosa added.
“It was really bad because I lost everything. It felt like it just happened overnight.”
The father-of-three admitted he wasn't the “best husband” looking back, but said there was “no excuse” for his past actions.
“I was going through a lot at the time, and my actions weren't the best,” he said.
Moosa and Hall, 40, married in April 2009. The former Flip or Flop stars share daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8.
In December 2016, the former couple announced that they were separating after seven years of marriage.
“Like many couples, we have faced challenges in our marriage. During this process, we are committed to giving our all to our children and being the best parents possible. ” they said in a statement at the time.

“We continue to navigate this process in an amicable and cooperative manner and look forward to continuing our professional lives together.”
In August of the following year, Hall formally filed for divorce from Moosa, citing “irreconcilable differences” in court documents as the reason for the separation.
Since the split, both real estate investors have moved on and added to their ranks.
Musa married Heather Rae Young in October 2021, and their son Tristan was born in January 2023.
Meanwhile, Hall married Ant Anstead in December 2018 and welcomed their son, Hudson, in September of the following year.
In November 2020, the interior designer filed for divorce from the 44-year-old “Wheeler Dealers” host, less than two months after announcing their separation.
Anstead is currently happily dating actress Renee Zellweger.
Christina secretly married Josh Hall in a courthouse wedding in 2022, but the two have no children.
