The cell phone of an American woman who went missing while on a yoga retreat in the Bahamas has been found underwater, local media reports say.
Taylor Casey, 41, remained missing Thursday since last being seen June 19 at the Sivananda Ashram yoga retreat on Paradise Island in Nassau.
Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings of the Royal Bahamas Police Force said Wednesday that Casey’s cell phone had been found in the ocean, but her other belongings were still at the resort. Nassau Guardian I will report.
“We’ve spoken to some people at the retreat, and we plan to continue,” Skippings says. He also said this at a press conference. Investigators said they had met with Casey’s family, who had travelled to the Bahamas, and the Nassau Guardian added that drones, dog units and divers had been deployed in the search for Casey.

Casey’s family said they were “deeply concerned” for her safety and wellbeing as the search continued.
“Taylor is at risk because she wanted to share her yoga retreat experience with others when she returns home,” Taylor’s mother, Collette Seymour, said in a statement earlier this week. “Taylor would never disappear like this.”
“Taylor is intelligent, compassionate, thoughtful and bubbly. She has practiced yoga for 15 years and attended the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat as part of a long-term goal to deepen her yoga practice,” her family said. “She was excited to participate in the yoga teacher training program and looked forward to sharing her experience with others upon her return.”

Recent ABC News interview, “We want Taylor back. We need her in our lives. We miss her,” Seymour said.
“The answers I was getting were completely out of sync with my maternal intuition and not what I wanted to hear,” Seymour added. “A young woman called me and said, ‘Have you heard from Taylor?’ I knew it was the woman from the yoga retreat so I looked at the phone and she said, ‘Taylor didn’t show up to yoga class.'”

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Taylor Casey, 41, was last seen on Wednesday, June 19, in the waters off Paradise Island (also known as Nassau), which is connected to New Providence Island. (See Taylor Casey’s Facebook page)
