Taylor Dayne Celebrates Health and Upcoming Las Vegas Residency
Taylor Dayne has a lot to be happy about these days. The pop singer, famous for her ’80s classic “Tell It to My Heart,” is preparing for her inaugural Las Vegas residency at Harrah’s, set to kick off soon.
The Grammy-nominated artist, who revealed last year that she had privately battled stage 2 colon cancer, now shares that she has been given a clean bill of health and is eager to celebrate with her fans. “I’ve been cancer-free for four years now,” she told Fox News Digital, beaming with joy. “I’ve taken my health seriously and have been diligent about my checkups. Life has no guarantees, especially as women; we really must advocate for our health.”
Dayne shared, “I was proactive with my screenings when I was diagnosed with multiple polyps. During a routine check, they discovered a highly aggressive polyp. It’s surprising how quickly things can change, but I told myself, ‘What do I do now?’ I was all about taking action at that point.”
Notably, Dayne didn’t have any warning signs prior to her diagnosis, highlighting the importance of regular screenings in catching issues early.
Speaking candidly about her experience, she noted, “I used to think colon cancer was mainly a man’s disease. I was shocked when I was told I had polyps, and at first, it didn’t hit me hard emotionally. But I learned to be my own advocate. I had to ask questions like, ‘Why do I keep getting polyps?’ You must be your own champion regarding information and medical plans.”
Interestingly, Dayne reflects on her health journey as something that significantly changed her outlook on life. “When illness strikes, it often feels like you can’t do much. Your best advocates are usually those close to you, but sometimes, it just has to be you. I’m incredibly grateful for it all. It lit a fire in me—I found a strong desire to live and to keep pushing through,” she shared.
Her rejuvenated focus on health also reflects her commitment to being present for her children. “Your kids just see you as their mom, not as a celebrity,” she explained. “They have their own needs. Being a single parent while managing my career meant that I had to return to my family life often.”
Dayne has established a strict health regimen, which, believe it or not, includes flexibility in her morning schedule. “My morning might start at 1 p.m. or even 5 a.m.,” she said. “I stay committed to my routine—even on busy days. I do my peptides, collagen, and bone broth. I engage in daily exercise and self-care.”
As she gears up for her Las Vegas shows, she realizes how vital a healthy lifestyle is for her demanding performance schedule. “Those moments in the morning should be about centering yourself. I typically kick off the day with a healthy smoothie, mostly liquids,” she added, noting her love for incorporating superfoods like soursop into her diet, especially while traveling.
Looking back on her breakthrough hit, Dayne recalls being in Munich and noticing fans dressed like her. “I thought, ‘Wow, they look like me!’ That moment drove home how quickly my life changed after that song became a hit. I never imagined people would connect with my music this deeply,” she reflected.
As she approaches her Las Vegas residency, Dayne views it as a celebration of her career, reflecting on the impact her music has had on others. “This is a cherry on top after three decades in the music industry,” she stated. “I am sincerely grateful for my health, family, and everything in between.”
Taylor Dayne’s “Tell It to My Heart” residency will begin on November 24 and run through January 2, with tickets now available for fans to celebrate alongside her.
