Taylor Lewan's first pitch at the Cardinals game was a complete failure: 'Worst day'

Taylor Lewan’s First Pitch Fumble

Taylor Lewan is certainly making waves, and not in the way he’d hoped.

The former Titans offensive tackle recently attempted to throw out the first pitch at a Cardinals game. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite go as planned—evoking memories of 50 Cent’s infamous throw during a Mets game over a decade ago.

Standing tall at 6-foot-7, Lewan seemed poised at the start. His wind-up looked fairly clean and suitable for an athlete.

However, when he let the ball fly, it veered off course, prompting fans to dodge it. It was, well, way off, even by left-handed pitch standards.

Feeling a mix of embarrassment and frustration, Lewan tossed his hat to the ground. He took a moment to collect himself, doing push-ups right there on the mound as a form of self-punishment for the less-than-stellar pitch.

Quick to react, he hopped onto social media to prep everyone for the inevitable onslaught of jokes.

“Just wrapped up throwing a pitch at the Cardinals game. Gotta say, it could have gone better,” he posted on X.

“But, with that video of my throw making the rounds… well, haters are definitely going to love this.”

And he wasn’t mistaken—trolls jumped on it without delay.

Lewan had an impressive nine-season run in the NFL, entirely with the Titans.

Despite his ups and downs as a three-time Pro Bowler, nothing could quite compare to the embarrassment of that first pitch.

In his own words, he claimed this was “the worst day of my athletic career,” even mentioning a particularly rough game against Chandler Jones.

For context, Jones once famously knocked down Lewan’s quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, five times in a single game.

Maybe his pitch, somehow, wasn’t as bad as 50 Cent’s, but you’d expect more precision from someone who’s played professionally. It begs the question—can he make a comeback?

“I think we need redemption,” he remarked.
