Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Announce Engagement
Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and pop sensation Taylor Swift shared some exciting news on Tuesday: they are engaged after dating for two years. Swift posted a charming photo showcasing a beautiful floral setup in a forest where Kelce is seen down on one knee, presumably during the proposal.
In her caption, she humorously remarked, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are married,” referring to their unexpected union. Their relationship turned heads this NFL season after they were spotted at Arrowhead Stadium supporting Kelce during a game against the Chicago Bears. Since then, Swift has become a familiar face at Kansas City games and attended when the Chiefs made their Super Bowl appearance two years ago.
Grace Hunt, daughter of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, expressed her delight over their engagement. “Travis and Taylor’s engagement is kind of news that makes the world feel a little brighter,” she remarked. “It’s a joy to see them step in at least once in a lifetime together.”
Meanwhile, sports fans were eager to celebrate this engagement. Swift recently appeared on the “New Heights” podcast hosted by Travis and his brother Jason Kelce, discussing their relationship. However, her presence at games has drawn some scrutiny, as some viewers felt the broadcasts focused too heavily on her rather than the teams on the field.
In a 2023 interview with Time Magazine, Swift acknowledged the mixed feelings some male sports fans might have regarding her frequent appearances on TV. “I’m there just to support Travis,” she noted, adding that she was surprised by the level of surprise and, perhaps, discontent from some fans.
Swift may return to Arrowhead Stadium this season, hoping to cheer on the Chiefs as they aim to make it to the Super Bowl for the fourth consecutive year.
