Taylor Swift’s Memorable Appearance at Arrowhead Stadium
Unlike many others, September brought something special for fans in Chiefs Kingdom.
On September 24, 2023, pop icon Taylor Swift stole the show at Arrowhead Stadium, rooting for tight end Travis Kelce.
“I vividly remember [Chiefs president] Mark Donovan calling me on Friday afternoon to let me know Taylor Swift would be attending the game,” recalled Chief Marketing Director Lara Krug.
In Donovan’s office, Krug and he both processed the unexpected reality of the situation.
“Lara came into my office, closed the door, and asked, ‘Can I ask a question?’ I said, ‘Of course.’ Then she said, ‘Is this normal?’ I told her, ‘No, Lara, this isn’t normal,'” Donovan recounted.
When game day against the Bears arrived, Swift, who had been linked to Kelce that summer, was spotted in the luxury suite alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna.
“We were all thinking, ‘Oh wow, Travis really did pull Taylor Swift,'” star defensive tackle Chris Jones shared in a documentary feature.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes mentioned that Kelce had brought up Swift earlier that week, but the teammates remained respectful of the situation.
After the Chiefs secured a 41-10 victory, Swift and Kelce exited the stadium together.
And, as they say, what happened next became history.
For nearly two years, Swift has been a constant presence at Chiefs games, following the team through a Super Bowl victory in 2024 and another championship game loss this February.
Swift was also supported by ten Pro Bowlers during her blockbuster ERAS tour, making appearances at various venues.
Recently, the 14-time Grammy winner sent fans into a frenzy by joining the “New Heights” podcast hosted by brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, while teasing her upcoming 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
This album is set to drop on October 3rd, right after Kelce kicks off his 13th season in the league.
The Chiefs will open their season against the Chargers in the first-ever international match taking place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on September 5th.
