Was it a coincidence? Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris came after a Hollywood trade magazine Variety He criticized the pop singer for being silent about the 2024 election.
Variety In a column published Monday, he called Taylor Swift's silence “disappointing,” noting that she has previously been a vocal supporter of the Democratic establishment, including Joe Biden in 2020, and much of the woke progressive movement.
Taylor Swift posted on Instagram late Tuesday, apparently in support of Kamala Harris, shortly after the presidential debate. She announced that she would be voting for Kamala, but tempered her enthusiasm by urging her millions of fans to do their own research and vote however they like.
Her support has been muted as Kamala Harris remains unpopular among many young progressive voters over the Gaza war, with anti-Israel progressives protesting her events and last month's Democratic National Convention.
Variety The column explicitly pressured Swift to step off the sidelines.
“Given how much Taylor Swift has benefited from speaking out about politics in the past, the idea of her remaining silent seems to make her past actions of speaking out when it was convenient for her seem ironic,” they wrote. Variety Daniel Daddario.
“It would be a shame if her involvement in politics was simply a passing phase and she intended to move on from there.”
Variety The column came shortly after two major polls trusted by the left showed former President Donald Trump holding a slight lead over Kamala Harris among voters nationwide, a major setback for Harris' campaign, which has received endless promotion from establishment media ever since Democratic elites pegged her as the candidate.
