Pop star Taylor Swift reportedly referred to actor Justin Baldoni as a “bitch” in an unsealed text conversation with actress Blake Lively. She remarked, “He pulled out a little violin,” about Baldoni.
Swift sent a message to Lively stating, “I think this woman knows something is going to happen because she pulled out a little violin.” According to court documents, Baldoni is set to become a director in December 2024.
The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer continued her message with a reference to a People article about Baldoni discussing past trauma from an ex-girlfriend while he wanted to “save himself for marriage.”
After Lively mentioned Baldoni was to be honored at a women’s event, Swift expressed her disdain, saying, “This is so disgusting and I hate that he’s being smart about this shit.”
She further commented that Baldoni needs to be “defeated on his own terms,” asserting that this is the only way to overcome a liar and hypocrite.
It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t the first instance of Swift and Lively discussing Baldoni. Back in April 2023, Lively had reached out to Swift for assistance regarding “this stupid director,” who starred in It Ends With Us.
Lively had asked Swift to convey to Baldoni that she was looking forward to the film, mentioning she was “surprised to read the page he sent me.” She offered to share the scene, stating, “I think he’s a clown and now he’s a writer.”
Swift’s response was enthusiastic: “I would do anything for you!!,” as shown in the court documents.
Interestingly, Baldoni has filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, claiming extortion and defamation, alleging that Swift has been involved in the situation.
Additionally, actress Jenny Slate, who played Lively’s best friend in It Ends With Us, had her own criticisms. She described Baldoni in an email to Lively as “the biggest clown and the most intense narcissist,” sharing her view of him as a “false ally” and expressing her dissatisfaction with his portrayal as a ‘male feminist.’
Lively has also mentioned feeling assaulted and humiliated during a birth scene, noting that she remained largely exposed for hours and found it invasive. She said they had to ask for blankets to maintain privacy, but they weren’t always available.
Baldoni’s attorney previously contended that Lively was aware she would be in a “sexual film with adult themes,” arguing that her complaint did not reach the threshold of harassment.
