Swift released tortured poet section April 19th.

“I am by no means a minister or parent who takes the ‘no to secular music’ position,” Pruitt wrote. “We are also fully aware that unbelievers act like unbelievers. But there is a difference between being secular and being anti-Christian.”

Pruitt then posted a sample of Swift’s lyrics.

in But daddy, I love him.Swift sings, “But daddy, I love him/All these people do is raise you/To cage you/Sarah and Hannah at their best on Sunday/Clutching their pearls, With a sigh / “How awful” / I just learned these people, they hate you, try to save you. ”

Later in the same song, she sings: “God save you most critical bastards/Who says they want what’s best for me/Sacredly performing a soliloquy you’ll never see/Thinking you can change the beat?” / Of my heart when he touches me / And cancel out the chemistry / And undo the fate / Don’t pray for me / Me and my wildness Boy, and all this wild joy / If all you want is gray for me / It’s just white noise, and it’s just my choice. “

in guilty as a crime, Swift sings. / They’re going to crucify me anyway / What if your hold is actually sacred? ”

“I used to listen to a lot of Taylor because of transparency, but I think it’s time to reconsider,” Pruitt wrote.

“As Spirit-filled Christians, we enjoy singing lyrics that not only differ from what we believe, but that actually mock what we believe. “Should I show it to them?” Pruitt asked.

Even before Pruitt’s post, the double album had been the subject of controversy for containing profane language. 11 of his 31 songs contain the “E” descriptor for “explicit”. Some songs include f-bombs.

Family entertainment website Movie Guide also criticized the album, calling it “a mockery of Christianity.”

MovieGuide quoted lyrics from another song; I can fix him (No, really I can fix him): “They shake their heads and say, “God help her”/When I tell them he’s my man/But your good Lord doesn’t move a finger. I can’t fix him, I really can.’ And I’m the only one who can. ”

“The fact that one of the most popular and well-known celebrities of his generation is unable to find happiness reveals that living in this world leads to death, and living for Christ leads to life.” Movie Guide wrote. “Unfortunately, Swift chose death and is reaping the fruits of her labor.”
