Florida Teacher Accused of Sexual Relations with Student

A 32-year-old teacher from Florida has been accused of engaging in sexual activities with a student during lunchtime at school. The teacher, identified as Sarah Jacas, works at Corner Lake Middle School in Orange County, located in the Orlando Metro area. Reports indicate she was arrested on Monday and appeared in court the following day.

According to an affidavit related to the arrest, a 16-year-old student claimed he had sexual encounters with Jacas when he was 14 years old. These alleged incidents reportedly took place between December 2022 and April 2023.

An official from Orange County Public Schools commented that Jacas is a ten-month employee and does not remain on staff during summer. The school’s principal communicated to the community that they are taking these allegations seriously and assured that investigations by law enforcement and the school district will be ongoing.

The principal further stated, although he could not disclose specifics about employee matters, Jacas would not return to school until the investigation concludes.

According to reports, the teenager revealed that he would eat lunch in Jacas’ classroom. The two reportedly communicated via text messages until the student’s parents became aware of this relationship. After that, Jacas allegedly reached out through the student’s Instagram account.

The relationship was eventually uncovered by Jacas’ husband, who threatened to report her. Jacas now faces several charges, including counts of sexual battery and other related offenses.
