The atmosphere was electric at Miami’s E11EVEN nightclub on Monday as the USA men’s hockey team celebrated their victory over Canada at the Winter Olympics. The celebration was in full swing after their thrilling win the day before.
Wearing their patriotic colors of red, white, and blue, team members proudly displayed their gold medals. They grabbed the mic to sing along to Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” which added to the lively atmosphere. A video shared captured the excitement of the moment.
Jack Hughes, the Olympic hero who scored the decisive goal, celebrated alongside his brother Quinn and the Tkachuk brothers—Brady and Matthew. Matthew made quite the impression by draping an American flag over his shoulders and spraying champagne into the crowd.
Amidst the festivities, Jack poured beer onto the enthusiastic fans while Rangers captain JT Miller enjoyed the thrill of crowd surfing.
As Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird,” known as the U.S. Olympic anthem, played, the team took to the stage where everyone joined in singing.
The hockey team arrived in South Florida shortly after their dramatic 2-1 overtime victory over Canada in Milan-Cortina.
Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck played exceptionally well, managing to stop 41 out of 42 shots during the match.
Looking ahead, the team plans to visit the nation’s capital after being invited by President Trump to attend Tuesday’s State of the Union address.
“We’re really proud to represent the United States. Meeting the president would be special for us,” said Hughes, adding, “We’re excited about visiting the White House.”
In contrast, the U.S. women’s hockey team, which also won gold with a 2-1 overtime victory over Canada, declined the invitation from Trump, citing prior commitments.
Despite the women’s team declining, Trump made a lighthearted remark to the men’s team about potential “impeachment” if they didn’t invite the women.
Reports mentioned that the women did not receive their invitations until late Sunday, complicating their travel arrangements since many of them were not landing in North America until Monday night.
Subsequently, Flavor Fluff extended an invitation to the women’s team for a celebration in Las Vegas.
