Team USA divers Sarah Bacon, Kassidy Cook earn country’s first medal at 2024 Paris Olympics

Americans Sarah Bacon and Cassidy Cook won silver in the women’s synchronized 3-meter springboard event on Saturday, giving the United States its first medal at the Paris Olympics.

Bacon and Cook finished ahead of the Chinese team of Yani Zhang and Yiwen Zhang and Britain’s Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew-Jensen.

Bacon and Cook missed out on competing in the last Olympics.

However, Cook competed in the 3-meter springboard event at the 2016 Olympic Games, finishing 13th.

Both athletes have won numerous medals and made a name for themselves on the world stage.

Bacon won gold in the one-meter springboard event at the 2019 World Championships.

Chang and Chen won the event with 337.68 points.

Both divers won their first Olympic medals of their careers and added another gold medal to their resumes.

They have won multiple gold medals at the World Championships.
