Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel is retiring from her post, a statement of sadness could be heard as she bid farewell to staffers at an all-staff meeting Wednesday morning.
McDaniel is stepping down as former President Donald Trump has publicly supported a new leadership team to lead the commission for the 2024 election cycle.
“We’ve been through a lot over the last four or seven years,” she said. “We gave our all to this building, especially the people on our side. And that’s the most disappointing part of this piece.”
“I’m so proud of what we’ve done, and so honored to be able to work with you all. So I just wanted to say thank you,” she said softly.

McDaniel warned staff to stand firm in the 2024 election and touted the strength of the committee.
“Don’t let what’s on the outside prevent you from seeing the strength and importance of this building and what we’re doing and what we have,” McDaniel added. .
“And I’m holding my head high. I hope you all can hold your heads high, too,” she continued, her voice cracking. “You can’t win an election without a strong RNC, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.”
