Trump Hosts Leading Tech CEOs for AI Meeting

Patrice Onuuka, who directs the Center for Economic Opportunity at the Independent Women’s Forum, is set to talk about the Republican stance and the role of artificial intelligence in shaping America’s future as the 2026 midterms approach.

First Lady Melania Trump is organizing an artificial intelligence conference on Thursday, featuring major industry figures, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai. This marks the second meeting of the White House task force focused on AI education, taking place in the east room of the White House. The First Ladies are expected to meet with Task Force members and leaders from the private sector.

In a recent statement, the First Lady expressed her belief that AI would be an essential growth area during the Trump administration. “AI may be seen as one of the most significant advancements in U.S. history,” she noted.

However, she also cautioned about the need for responsible management of AI’s growth. “We must treat AI much like we do our children,” she stated. “These are unusual times, and we have a duty to prepare the next generation for what lies ahead.”

The conference will include comments from First Ladies and Task Force members, along with private sector leaders committed to enhancing AI education nationwide.

Among those attending Thursday’s meeting are Sundar Pichai, president of code.org Cameron Wilson, and IBM’s Arvind Krishna.

Members of the Task Force include various department heads, such as the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Secretary of Agriculture Brook Rollins, and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, among others. Additionally, Hailey Harrison, the First Lady’s Chief of Staff, will be present, along with other advisors.

This meeting will precede a dinner hosted by President Trump in the Rose Garden, bringing together nearly two dozen prominent technology leaders, including Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Apple’s Tim Cook.

Meanwhile, the First Lady has been an advocate for online safety for children through her “Be Best” initiative, initially launched during her husband’s first term. In 2025, she played a significant role in supporting the Take It Down Act, signed into law by the president.

Interestingly, this conference follows the launch of the National Presidential Artificial Intelligence Challenge by the First Lady in August. She has also recently released an audiobook of her memoir incorporating AI audio technology in various languages, highlighting her commitment to creating lasting connections with her audience.
