Tech moguls ‘optimistic’ about San Francisco despite urban decay

Forget the rampant crime, boarded-up retail stores, and homeless encampments that plague San Francisco. Tech industry leaders are optimistic that San Francisco is finally on the verge of a boom.

The Golden Gate City has experienced economic booms and busts in cycles, and the past few years have meant a boom is just around the corner, Silicon Valley says. Several leaders spoke. he told the Los Angeles Times.

“It feels like a really optimistic and exciting moment,” said Angela Huber, who recently relocated her AI search chatbot company Andi from Miami to San Francisco.

“People want to live in San Francisco, and the members of my team who live here are obsessed with the city.”

Hoover, who described his move to the Bay Area as “rocket fuel,” is a newcomer to the area, but despite the Bay Area's rough-and-tumble new reputation, many of San Francisco's longtime tech titans are I enthusiastically agreed.

While many business leaders sought to combat San Francisco's negative image, others called on the government to step up street cleaning — last week, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said, “San Francisco is better than New York.'' The situation is far worse.”

However, many technology industry leaders said the city continues to outperform other cities across the country despite its many social issues.

While the data on crime and homelessness are tilted in a negative direction, other numbers point to a more prosperous future.
