Cruz Questions Schumer’s Future Amid Rising AOC Influence

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) shared his thoughts on the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” voicing skepticism about Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) political future.

During the interview with Sean Hannity, Cruz suggested that Schumer might feel threatened by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and expressed doubt that Schumer would pursue re-election.

“I believe Chuck Schumer will never win a New York Democratic primary again. I don’t think he will run for re-election. I joked that Schumer would be the first member of AOC’s presidential campaign because he’s afraid of being voted out in the primary by her,” Cruz stated.

Texas Republicans position Ocasio-Cortez as a potential presidential candidate, noting that New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani might pose a significant challenge for the Senate seat.

Cruz remarked, “New Hampshire. She’s the top Democratic candidate in the nation according to the latest poll. I think she’ll run for president, not for the Senate. But here’s my prediction, Sean: Comrade Mamdani will be the next Democratic senator from New York. I believe he will take over from Schumer. He really is a dominant figure among Democrats, and while some Republicans are pleased about this, I think it’s a real concern.”

Cruz added, “I’d like to see two normal political parties, ones that aren’t filled with extremists who can act reasonably and actually love their country. Sure, I disagree with the Democrats on tax increases and regulations, but can we agree that they love America? The issue lies with these radical leftists who seem to not just dislike America but actively hate it. If you’re a small business owner, a Christian, or Jewish, you’re in the crosshairs. That’s worrisome. Historically, we’ve seen this before. Unfortunately, the Democratic Party may regain power, and if that’s under open communists inspired by figures like Mao and Stalin, it poses a real danger.”
