Deadline revealed Friday that Ted Danson is starring in a new 30 minute comedy on Netflix and it sounds utterly fantastic.
Danson will star in “A Man on the Inside,” initially called “A Classic Spy,” from Mike Schur, the genius behind such hits as the American remake of “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” according to Deadline. The eight-episode series will reportedly premiere in November and is based on an Oscar-nominated documentary called “The Mole Agent.”
The plot revolves around Danson’s character, Charles, “who gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation,” Deadline writes.

Additional cast members include Mary Elizabeth Ellis (the waitress from “Always Sunny“), Lilah Richcreek Estrada and a whole load of others, according to Deadline, who will likely look back on this series as the one that skyrocketed them to stardom. Many of Schur’s previous shows catapulted talented working actors into the mainstream. Where would Aubrey Plaza be without “Parks and Rec’s” April? Or John Krasinski had he not played Jim in “The Office” for all those years?

Even Chris Pratt probably wouldn’t be a household name had he not played the lovable Andy in “Parks and Rec.” All of these shows are Schur-classics. And there’s a strong chance “A Man on the Inside” will join their ranks. (RELATED: Jeff Goldblum’s ‘KAOS’ Trailer Feels Less Like Fiction The More You Watch It)
There are no specifics on the exact release date of “A Man on the Inside,” only that the series will reportedly drop in November. Let’s hope it comes after the election, eh?
