Teddi Mellencamp is currently in therapy to help her process the experiences she’s been through while fighting cancer.
“I think it’s definitely affecting my body,” the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star shared with Tamra Judge during a recent episode of “Two T’s in a Pod.” She revealed that she is “currently undergoing treatment” following her melanoma diagnosis in 2022 and the discovery of a brain tumor in 2025.
Mellencamp noted that her emergency surgery was not “handled properly,” which left her unable to see her children for extended times. On top of that, she ended her marriage to Edwin Arroyave after 13 years.
Now, she is grappling with the intense demands of immunotherapy.
“I’ve realized there are some things that are difficult, like moving around,” she explained. “I find myself much slower than before, which is really frustrating.”
At 44, she expressed her desire to “return to how I was” before facing these health challenges.
The reality star also addressed concerns about her father, John Mellencamp, revealing he has been “struggling” recently. “When he mentioned ‘suffering,’ I think he was referring to my mental state,” she said, adding that physically she’s doing okay, though she’s still classified as stage 4 and continues to receive immunotherapy.
John Mellencamp, 74, previously shared during the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast that his daughter is “very sick,” saying, “It’s not fucking fun.” He elaborated that she has brain cancer and is enduring a tough time.
Teddi mentioned on her podcast that she’s been “resting a lot and enjoying time with my family.” She acknowledged battling severe PTSD from everything she’s experienced, something she hadn’t fully recognized until now.
John later suggested that he hoped she’d move from Los Angeles to Indiana for support, although she wasn’t interested in that. He expressed in an interview with People magazine that she’s “going through hell this past year” and has changed her personality during this ongoing battle. He confirmed that while the lesions remain, the actual cancer is currently not detectable, but she still faces years of treatment.
Having been diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, the reality star underwent over 15 surgeries for her condition. She then faced emergency surgery in 2025 to remove several tumors from her brain.
In October 2025, she announced that the cancer in her lungs had been eliminated. “I’m not in remission yet,” she shared on her podcast, explaining that doctors indicated that formal remission would take one to three years to be considered.
Teddi’s estranged husband has acknowledged her struggles as she continues her treatment, noting, “She’s on immunotherapy, and that alone has side effects,” which he said have impacted her mental health.
