Teen arrested after 16-year-old boy dies following beach incident in Ayrshire

Fatal Incident on Scottish Beach

A 16-year-old boy tragically lost his life, and a 17-year-old was arrested following an event on a beach in Irvine, Scotland.

Kaydenmoy, who was from East Kilbride, sustained severe injuries around 6:45 PM on Saturday. He was rushed to Cross House, University Hospital in Kilmarnock, but sadly, he passed away early Sunday morning.

His father, Paul, shared a message on Facebook reflecting on the loss.

Monica Lennon, a labor MSP from Central Scotland, also commented on the situation via X.

Police Scotland confirmed the arrest of the 17-year-old on Sunday. They are appealing to anyone who was on the beach to reach out if they have any cellphone footage of the incident that led to Kayden’s injury.

DCI Campbell Jackson, a key investigator with Scottish Police, stated: “We are conducting a thorough investigation to understand all the details surrounding this tragic death. Our officers are here to support the family during this incredibly tough time.”

He noted there were numerous people on the beach amidst the disturbance, and he believes some may have recorded it. “I encourage anyone with footage, if they think it’s relevant to our investigation, to get in touch with the police,” he added.

The detective also mentioned a dedicated website where the public can anonymously submit information directly to the investigation team.

Supt Jim McMillan reassured the community: “We have increased patrols in the area as we continue our inquiries, and anyone with concerns is welcome to approach our officers.”
