Teen dies while attempting to rescue mother from undocumented immigrant in Kentucky

Authorities are investigating the tragic murder of a 15-year-old boy in Kentucky, allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant. Gildaldo Amandor Martinez, 36, is accused of killing Luis Jossan Nanès Lopez after the teenager intervened during an assault on his mother on July 20th. Reportedly, the boy’s sister was also harmed in the incident.

Witnesses indicated that Luis lost his life while trying to protect his mother from what has been described as a heinous act. People are expressing outrage, emphasizing that Martinez, being a criminal and an immigrant, should not have been in the country to begin with.

Court documents reveal that Martinez returned home around 2:30 a.m. following a night out and allegedly attempted to assault his girlfriend. When Luis heard the commotion and entered the room, he asked if he should call the police. Martinez, however, reportedly ordered him to leave, with the mother mentioning that they would discuss it in the morning. In a frenzied moment, Martinez grabbed a gun and fired several shots at the apartment door, fatally hitting Luis.

The mother managed to escape with her three other young children while hearing additional gunfire as they fled. Sadly, Luis was pronounced dead at the scene.

As for the legal repercussions, Martinez is facing serious charges including murder and attempted rape. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken steps to detain him, which means local authorities are required to hold him until he can be transferred to federal custody.

Interestingly, officials explained that Martinez had made three attempts to enter the U.S. through an unauthorized route in 2021, finally succeeding in his last attempt. Some are pointing to the current administration’s border policies, suggesting they inadvertently allowed dangerous individuals like Martinez to reside within the country, leading to such tragic circumstances.
