A motive for the shooting was unknown as of Friday, and no suspect information was available.

The incident occurred a day after a 15-year-old gunman shot and killed 29-year-old Jeron Grant near East 161st Street and Morris Street, also in the Bronx, police said.

Police said an officer on patrol saw the boy pull out a gun and fire multiple shots at Grant.

Police said Grant was shot once in the chest and the teenage suspect fled the scene.

However, officers pursued the boy and arrested him several blocks away.

He was charged with murder, manslaughter and weapons possession, police said.
