Teen Allegedly Shoots Parents, Kills Mother

A teenage boy is accused of shooting his parents, resulting in his mother’s death outside their Pennsylvania home shortly after Christmas, according to authorities.

Jarrod Knoll, 18, was apprehended in West Virginia on Saturday following a large-scale search that included tracking dogs, which took place after the incident in New Freeport on Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the residence, located just north of the West Virginia state line, where they discovered the parents suffering from gunshot wounds. The mother, whose name has not yet been released, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead. The father was also hospitalized but was released afterward in stable condition.

At the time of the shooting, Knoll’s brothers were at home. Reports indicate he allegedly fired the shots outside. The children are now under the care of relatives.

After the shooting, Knoll fled on foot, prompting police to conduct an extensive search using helicopters and tracking dogs. Officers scoured the area, with Pennsylvania State Police Sergeant Richard Sizer noting, “it poses a great danger to the community.” Eventually, Knoll was located in West Virginia and taken into custody without any issues.

Noll is currently being held in West Virginia and will soon be extradited to Pennsylvania. He faces charges of murder and attempted murder, as authorities believe he had the gun during the incident.
