Teens charged with murdering bicyclist they plowed into with stolen car: ‘Just bump him, brah’

The 13-year-old was charged with murder, allegedly deliberately mowing a stolen car bicycle, police said.

Jonathan Overbay reportedly ran deliberately around 4:40am on May 29th last year, attacking Scott Dwight Harbormel, 63, who was riding a bike for work at Sandia National Laboratory. According to the Albuquerque Police Department.

The young teen was arrested after a police officer was turned over by an unpleasant video of the crash shared on social media.

He told the young driver he was trying to hit a cyclist and accelerate the stolen car. Officers said they urged them not to get too fast, along with a young passenger who was later identified as 15-year-old William Garcia.

“Just smash him, bra,” Garcia is said to have said the driver, “Hey, will you smash him?”

“Yeah, just smash him,” Garcia is said to have told him. “I'm off…15…20.”

As the car approached the cyclist, an 11-year-old boy in the passenger seat waving his handgun and laughed as the front of the vehicle came across an innocent cyclist, officers said.

Police investigated the fatal conflict of the time, but only gained the lead when they turned around on social media videos.

The officer already belonged to the 11-year-old cell phone and from previous investigations he belonged to Overbay. Overbay is also charged with several crimes in the month before the fatal crash. According to Kob 4.

The defendant's driver was arrested Monday, charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and left the scene of an accident involving serious bodily harm or death and illegal possession of a handgun.

Police are still looking for Garcia, who is facing the same charges.

Police said 11 years old is too young to become a child of murder.

The boy was arrested Tuesday. Krqe reportedidentifies him as Messiah Hayes.

He has a widespread criminal history and is believed to be linked to a series of crimes, including shootings, robberies, and more, APD said Tuesday.
