Jimmy Swaggart in Intensive Care After Heart Attack

Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart is currently in intensive care following a heart attack, and his son Donnie Swaggart suggests that he might not make it.

“Without miracles, he’s short,” Donnie stated during a Sunday service. He also preaches from the same pulpit as his 90-year-old father.

The full details of Swaggart’s health situation remain unclear.

Family spokesperson Megan Kelly shared that emergency responders quickly arrived after the preacher went into cardiac arrest.

“The ambulance responded very quickly. They administered CPR, taking turns, and I can only imagine how tense and emotional that scene was,” she noted.

Since the announcement of his condition, no further updates have been provided by the Ministry of Jimmy Swaggart.

The ministry issued a statement asking for prayers and faith in miracles but emphasized trust in God’s ultimate plan. They plan to keep followers informed through updates on their Facebook page.

Swaggart’s past includes a significant fall from grace; he was dismissed by his congregation in 1988 following a scandal. He publicly apologized that February, famously admitting, “I have committed a crime.”

Despite the controversies, he managed to rebuild his audience, reaching around 800,000 viewers in subsequent years. However, in 1991, he faced another setback during a traffic stop that linked him to a prostitution case, leading to canceled contracts.

Still, Swaggart persevered and continued his ministry, launching the Sonlife Broadcasting Network in 2010.
