A Temple University employee was stabbed at an intersection in Philadelphia on Tuesday morning. School officials have described the incident as an “unprovoked incident” caused by someone who “appears to have been driven to a mental corner.”
The university responded to a report of an assault in the 1000 block of Montgomery Avenue around 7:15 a.m. and found an employee stabbed once in the right arm, Jennifer Griffin, the university's vice president for public safety, said in a statement. It was announced that.
The worker was alert and conscious when he was taken to Temple Hospital for further treatment, Griffin said. An update on their condition was not immediately available.
“The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority,” Griffin said in a statement. “We would like to thank the officers who responded quickly and for their efforts.”
