Tennessee Jan. 6 rioter convicted in plot to kill FBI agents

At trial in Knoxville, Tennessee, federal prosecutors said FBI agents who participated in the investigation into Kelly's actions on January 6 while he was awaiting trial for his involvement in the Capitol riot. He said he had created a “kill list.”

Recordings introduced by prosecutors show Mr. Kelly directing the plan, giving instructions to “start,” “attack” and “shut down the office” if an arrest was made. Officials were also recorded saying, “Every blow must hurt. Every blow must hurt.”

Mr. Kelly is scheduled to be sentenced on May 7, 2025, and faces a possible life sentence.
