Tennis star Naomi Osaka said in a social media post on Monday that she and her rapper boyfriend Cordae, who had been together for about six years and had one child together, were “no longer in a relationship.”
Osaka made the announcement less than a week before the start of the Australian Open.

“There's no bad blood at all. He's a great human being and a great father,” Osaka wrote. “Honestly, I was really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow so much from our experiences together.”
Cordae did not comment on the breakup.
Osaka gave birth to her daughter in Los Angeles in July 2023. She returned to the court at last year's Australian Open after taking a break of about 15 months.

The Australian Open marks the beginning of the men's and women's tennis season. She won this tournament in 2019 and 2021, and this was the last Grand Slam title she won.
She is 24-6 in Australian Open matches. He lost in the first round last year, sat out 2023, and was eliminated in the third round in 2022.
Osaka was forced to withdraw from the Auckland Classic, but was optimistic she would be able to play at the Australian Open.
