Jannik Sinner's three-month doping ban doesn't sit with parts of the tennis world.
Australian star Nick Kyrgios tore the world's anti-doping agency (WADA) and claimed that the sinner was easily down in a few months' suspension with his two positive drug tests.
“So [WADA] They come out and say it's going to be a ban for a year or two.” Kyrgios wrote on x. “Obviously, the sinner team has gone just ahead, put in a three-month ban, and put all their strength into making sure the titles are not lost and the prizes are not lost. Guilty or not? For tennis. A sad day. There is no fairness in tennis.”
Wada had previously tried to ban criminals from tennis for at least a year.
And Kyrgius was not alone.
Swiss tennis player Stan Wawrinka also took to social media to make a seemingly contributing to the sinner's suspension.
“I don't believe in beautiful sports anymore…” He wrote on x.
Thinner will be suspended from February 9th to May 4th, allowing you to return to the home tournament, the Italian Open in Rome, which begins on May 7th.
He will also return to the court before the next Grand Slam (French Open), which begins on May 25th.
The sinner had previously said that his positive test result had occurred. His fitness trainer bought an over-the-counter spray in Italy containing a crossteball and treated a sinner physiotherapist for a cut of the fingers of a medical professional without wearing gloves.
“The incident had been hanging from me for almost a year, but the process still had a long time to run on a decision only at the end of the year,” Thinner said in a statement Friday. “I've always accepted that I'm responsible for my team. I've realized that Wada's strict rules are important protections for the sport I love.
“Based on that, I have accepted Wada's offer to settle these cases under three months of sanctions.”
