The UNC-Chapel Hill fraternity boys who stood up to protect the Star-Spangled Banner from a horde of anti-Israel protesters have a new fan. That’s John Rich, the famous country music singer-songwriter.
This week, John Rich offered to give a free concert to the young people as a thank you for their courage in guarding the perimeter of Old Glory. Word of his offer spread quickly, and the boys received an outpouring of public support, as well as offers from other country stars, including Lee Greenwood, and groups such as Bikers for Trump to perform at the concert. There was a rush.
John Rich spoke with host Mike Slater about his patriotic Tar Heel brothers in an interview Friday. Breitbart News Daily On SiriusXM Patriot 125.
“They knocked me out,” Rich said. “I hope people know that there are young people who feel so strongly about our country.”
On Tuesday, anti-Israel demonstrators at UNC-Chapel Hill hoisted an American flag on the campus’s main quad and replaced it with a Palestinian flag.
Moments later, interim Prime Minister Lee Roberts was seen on video restoring the American flag with the help of law enforcement. When left-wing demonstrators again threatened to take down the Stars and Stripes, a group of mostly fraternal brothers surrounded the flag and stopped the demonstrators, who threw water bottles at them and attacked them. They fired back, calling them fascists.

Some young people chanted “USA” while raising the flag so it didn’t touch the ground.
“They represent what we have to have to build a future in this country,” Rich told Breitbart News Daily. “We need young people to feel passionate about their country and patriotism, to be seen, to be responsible and to be heard.”
“It gives [people] Light of hope. Especially for young people. ”
Rich said the incident dispelled the impression that most college students were sympathetic to the radical anti-Israel left that has taken over campuses across the country.
“Tens of millions of other young people are standing up and trying to do something about this issue. That’s why I think this is a great moment.”
After Tuesday’s incident, Ricci took to social media to reach out to young people and offer free shows “to celebrate the flag and those who love her.”
