This is some absolutely scary stuff!
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched investigation after a departing Delta flight nearly crashed into the charter plane that was carrying the Gonzaga men’s basketball team. The terrifying scene went down Friday at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
“Stop, stop, stop!” screamed an air-traffic controller at Gonzaga’s plane that was taking the team across the nation, doing so as Delta Flight 471 was taking off and approaching the charter plane while it was creeping closer to the runway. Fortunately, what could have been a chaotic situation wasn’t, as the Delta flight bound for Atlanta managed to take off without hitting Gonzaga‘s plane. And it was all thanks to the air-traffic controller’s warning.
Gonzaga had just landed at LAX when things transpired, doing so on a Key Lime Air flight. The airline, based in Colorado, operates charter services.

I don’t blame the FAA for being like “what the hell?” and launching an investigation, because seriously, how on earth does something like this happen?
We nearly saw the complete destruction of the Gonzaga men’s basketball program, and the fact that we’re having that thought is completely unacceptable.
