Terrion Arnold finishes Giants visit without a contract, but the opportunity remains open.

Terrion Arnold’s Future with the Giants Uncertain

Terrion Arnold ended his visit with the Giants without signing a contract. However, there’s still a chance for him. Surprisingly, the Giants, along with other NFL teams, are not waiting for the resolution of Arnold’s felony kidnapping and robbery charges before considering him for their roster.

Head coach John Harbaugh expressed the team’s aggressive approach, saying, “We’re going to look at any situation or player and find anything that can make us better.” He emphasized the competitive nature of the NFL, noting, “It’s all about winning games, and we’re always on the lookout for talent that can make a difference. He’s one of those guys.”

In a related matter, the Giants had turned down interest in receiver Stefon Diggs during the offseason. Diggs was acquitted of serious charges related to an incident involving his former personal chef.

Arnold, at just 23, presents a young and economical option. Prosecutors mistakenly think he is charged with orchestrating a kidnapping and the assault of three men, during which $100,000 in cash and luxury items were stolen. While facing severe consequences if convicted, Arnold maintains his innocence.

The Lions, who drafted Arnold in the first round in 2024, let him go after the charges emerged. Other teams, including the Jets, have conducted visits with him.

Harbaugh reflected on the lengthy legal process that could follow, saying, “It could take years and might derail his career.” He stressed the importance of evaluation, questioning, “What does this really mean, and how do we assess it?”

He mentioned the team’s duty to thoroughly investigate such situations, believing the front office would handle it responsibly. “This organization has looked deeply into it. If a decision contradicts our values, we won’t proceed. But there’s more to it than just headlines,” he added.

In the past, the Giants waived cornerback DeAndre Baker after he faced armed robbery charges; however, those were dismissed, allowing him a second chance with the Chiefs. If Arnold signs, he might be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list before any legal actions are taken.

“We aim to foresee what potential outcomes lay ahead and determine if it’s worth it,” Harbaugh said. “It’s always a balance of risk and reward.”
