Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud’s faith was a hot topic during the NFL postseason, with NBC seemingly omitting the rookie’s comments about his faith in a social media clip.

The video was posted to NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” However, the part where Stroud praised Jesus Christ was edited out because the post read, “CJ Stroud loves his city so much.”

Asked about the social media controversy, Stroud remained dignified.

“I love everyone. Christ calls us to love one another and just let the light shine,” he told FOX News Digital. “It comes from God. I really want to show that love and I want people to experience my experience of finding Christ and building a relationship with God for you. I sincerely believe that.”

“I want to show love and show people what I stand for. I pray for everyone, but I don’t have any special feelings about it. I just want everyone to know. Just pray for me.”

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt were among those who praised God during championship weekend. Stroud said it’s great to have a large community of Christian athletes in the NFL.

“Of course I think football is great, but one day this sport will die,” he said. “This is our passion, but I think our purpose is bigger than just soccer. It’s great to see people use their platform to show a purpose in the Lord.”

“So I think we have a really good community of believers in the league and in the sports world. I think the more things we can do on our platform, the better we can make this world and hopefully really “We want to be able to help people. They want help to find Christ and truly understand that God loves you no matter what. That’s what we do. I feel that this is a light that is trying to shine.”

Speaking to FOX News Digital on behalf of the Super Bowl campaign with Cheetos, Stroud spoke openly about his faith.

In November, Stroud turned his attention to God in the midst of the MVP conversation.

“For me, it’s a lot of prayer,” Stroud explained. “I know very well that God will not put anything on me that I cannot handle. I am not worthy of His grace or mercy, and yet He has given it to me. “That’s why I love God. It’s not about me.” “It’s about God and His glory. So I think that’s where it comes from. God made me that way.” I think it is.”

“I’ve been through a lot. It was kind of scary when everything was going wrong, not just football. And I thank God for getting me through it. ” [in] Because that’s what you need to play in this position: the lead. That defense didn’t blink even though they allowed big plays. They knew it would be a problem. We knew that too. ”

Speaking to Fox News Digital before last year’s NFL Draft, Stroud explained why he continues to put his faith first.

“That’s what kept me grounded throughout the season,” he said in February. “Football has a lot of ups and downs, a lot of twists and turns, but at the end of the day, it all depends on your foundation. And what built my foundation is my faith.”

“That’s not to say I’m perfect, but I strive every day to get better, and I definitely think that’s what saved me. No matter what someone is going through, it’s life. If it helps encourage them to help, I’m all for it.”
