No player had a busier or worse opening kickoff than Kris Boyd in the Texans-Chiefs game.
At the start of an AFC divisional game in Kansas City, the Texans cornerback and special teams player watched Nikko Remigio take a kick and return it to the Houston 32-yard line, where Boyd chased him from behind.
Boyd made a good tackle, forced a fumble, and quickly started celebrating after the Chiefs recovered.
A fired up Boyd rushed to the sideline, but before he got there he took off his helmet and threw it, receiving a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and the ball ending up at Houston's 13-yard line.
Without a helmet on, he approached a screaming Frank Ross, the Texans' special teams coordinator, and gave him a big shove.
It was a chaotic start for the six-year veteran, but the team's defense cushioned the blow by holding the Chiefs to a field goal.
