“Upon arrival, officers attempted to detain the person involved in the disturbance. During the collision, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and the officer sustained a severe head injury,” authorities said in a statement.

The suspect who was allegedly seen driving the car in the video, 28-year-old Jameisha Butler, was later arrested in the 3800 block of Kings Row and charged with intoxication, assault, and evading custody. “He also seriously injured a peace officer,” police said.

Another woman allegedly involved in the incident, 22-year-old Melissa Bell, was also arrested on charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, assault on a peace officer and outstanding warrants. .
