Attempted Kidnapping of a Texas Girl

A 13-year-old girl in Texas had a terrifying experience on Monday when a man attempted to grab her from behind while she was walking to school in broad daylight, as reported by authorities. Witnesses noted that he was possibly wearing a ski mask during the incident.

Police in Galveston stated that this unsettling encounter took place just before 7 a.m. as the girl was heading to Galveston Central Middle School. She suddenly became aware of footsteps closing in behind her.

A stranger grabbed her from behind, which led to a brief struggle. Remarkably, the girl managed to bite the suspect twice, allowing her to escape unharmed. She quickly ran to her school and informed a teacher, who then contacted the police.

Investigators have released a video that captures a possible kidnapping scenario, showing a woman screaming as she is taken away.

The girl’s parents arrived at the school shortly after, and together with the officers, they retraced her steps to identify where the incident occurred.

According to the police, they obtained security footage from a nearby business that showed the girl walking in the area, along with a man on the same path shortly afterward.

In another incident, an SUV driver ran over an 8-year-old boy on a bicycle and fled the scene. The police are also on the lookout for anyone seeking medical help for bite injuries, urging local facilities to get in touch if they have relevant information.

Authorities suggested that the suspect appears to be either a white or Hispanic man, dressed in a black short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and a ski mask.

If anyone has information regarding the suspect’s identity, they are encouraged to reach out to the Galveston Police Department at 409-763-3777.
