Shooting Incident at ICE Facility in Dallas

A man opened fire near an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday morning, leaving behind an anti-ICE message, according to FBI officials.

The shooter reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after targeting three victims, with two fatalities confirmed. Joseph Rothrock, an FBI special agent, indicated that preliminary investigations showed the rounds recovered had an anti-ICE engraving.

In a statement, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed via social media that the incident, which took place just before 7 a.m., resulted in one fatality along with multiple injuries before the suspect took his own life. Law enforcement agencies including the FBI, DHS, and ATF are actively investigating the scene, alongside local police.

Rothrock noted that none of the law enforcement officers involved were harmed during the attack, categorizing it as “an act of targeted violence.” The Dallas Police Chief, Daniel Commu, mentioned that the shooter was positioned in an adjacent building when he opened fire.

Authorities have yet to disclose the identity of the suspect or any clear motive behind the attack. The two deceased individuals have been identified as ICE detainees.
