Texas mall shooter caught on dash cam opening fire on shoppers

Disturbing dashcam footage captured the horrifying moment when the shooter, who is believed to have killed eight people at a Texas mall, casually got out of his car and opened fire on shoppers.

This clip shows a gray vehicle parked near the entrance to the giant Allen Premium Outlets just after 3:30 PM.

A man dressed in all black emerged from the driver’s seat with a gun and immediately began firing at people outside the store from behind the car door.

Several gunshots are heard in the clip. A black pickup driver of his truck, realizing what is happening, screeches tires and tries to reverse from the gunman’s car.

The driver, captured by the camera, can be seen backing up and driving away from the scene as the shooting continues.

As the vehicle backs up, the shooter is seen hanging out towards the mall as gunfire continues.

The as-yet-unidentified gunman killed eight people and wounded seven before being shot dead by police, officials said Saturday night.

Allen officers were answering an unrelated phone call at the mall when they heard gunshots, police said.

Officers ran to the gunfire, confronted the shooter, and “neutralized the threat,” Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey told reporters at a news conference.

Another video captured by local television shows the corpses of several victims lying under white sheets near the H&M store where the shooter opened fire.

Police believe the shooter acted alone. His motives remain unclear and he has not been publicly identified.

Seven people, including the shooter, were found dead at the scene, Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd said at a news conference. Responders transported nine more victims to area hospitals. Two of them died from their injuries.

Three of the victims have undergone critical surgery and the remaining four are in stable condition.

Dallas-based Medical City Health Care has treated eight victims between the ages of 5 and 61, CNN reported.

The ages of the victims who died at the scene and those who died in hospital have not been released.
