On Monday, numerous fire departments responded to the blaze, along with additional emergency personnel, after authorities received reports of an explosion at a poultry farm factory on Route 21 near Kurten.

Brazos County Sheriff Wayne Dickey reported that Highway 21 was reduced to one lane and Democratic Road was reduced to one lane. It is currently closed. He also reiterated that motorists and onlookers should avoid the area.

Around 6:30 p.m., Bryan Texas Utilities tweeted: “System operators must remove approximately 140 customers from service so firefighters can safely respond to the fire off Highway 21.” he posted.

No further information was reported about how the fire started. Authorities say they are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

Additionally, no human injuries were reported at the scene.
