Texas Education Bill Advances to Governor
The new education legislation in Texas, aimed at shielding children from sexualization in schools, is now awaiting approval from the governor.
Senator Brandon Clayton’s Senate Bill 12 seeks to ban guidance regarding sexual orientation and gender identity from kindergarten through 12th grade, and it also prohibits school staff from promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
A host from BlazeTV, Sarah Gonzalez, expressed gratitude toward the Texas legislature for passing this bill, emphasizing the need to stop teachers from guiding students on their sexual identities. She remarked, “Where I come from, they just call such practices ‘pedophilia.’
The bill’s most contentious aspect is its ban on “school-sponsored sex clubs based on sexual identity,” which includes groups like the Gay Straight Alliance Club. Gonzalez criticized Democrats for being upset over the limitations placed on such clubs, stating, “It’s wild that there are people who think they have the right to indoctrinate children into sex clubs.”
President Steve Toth’s amendments further clarify that schools must not socially transition students without parental consent. Gonzalez remarked that, fifteen years ago, it would have been unimaginable to draft a bill requiring parental notification for these matters.
