Texas Tech Student Arrested After Disturbing Comments

An 18-year-old student from Texas Tech has faced arrest after making alarming remarks related to Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. This incident unfolded when Camlyn Gisele Booker was caught on video yelling at fellow students outside the university’s student union.

In the video, which has drawn significant attention, Booker can be heard shouting, “F-k y’all holmie dead, he was shot in the head.” Following this incident, she was charged with one count of assault, categorized as a Class C misdemeanor, which represents the lowest level of criminal offense in Texas.

The Texas Tech Police Department released a statement confirming the arrest, noting that Booker was accused of a simple attack taking place in a designated area for free speech on campus. After her arrest, she was taken to Lubbock County Jail.

On Monday, Texas Tech announced that Booker would no longer be enrolled at the university. In their statement, the administration emphasized that demonstrations of violence have no place on campus and are contrary to the institution’s values. They further indicated that federal law prevents them from discussing matters concerning individual students.

During the confrontation shown in the video, Booker appeared to be agitated, engaging with a man wearing a red “American Great” hat. At one point, they exchanged comments, with Booker insisting that others were misreading her emotions. She responded, “I call me offensive because I’m a black woman.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott reacted strongly to the incident, sharing a photo of Booker in custody and criticizing her behavior related to the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Booker posted a $200 bond and was released from jail the following afternoon. As of now, her representative has opted not to comment on the situation.
