Texas will not accept sharia law: Abbott takes a strong stance against radical Islam

Texas Governor Takes Action Against Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR

On Tuesday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced measures against the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). This move involves a formal declaration that categorizes both groups as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations according to Texas law.

Abbott’s declaration emphasizes that these organizations have expressed their intent to impose Sharia law and pursue Islamic “world domination.” The Muslim Brotherhood, established nearly a century ago, has its roots highlighted in the declaration. Notably, its founder, Hassan al-Banna, famously stated that jihad is an obligation for all Muslims, which includes opposing those who disbelieve in Islam through various means, including violent actions.

Additionally, Governor Abbott pointed out that Mohamed Badi, the organization’s eighth leader, is currently serving a life sentence for orchestrating an armed rebellion in Egypt. Badi reportedly indicated in a manifesto that the aim is to establish an Islamic caliphate that would enforce Sharia law globally.

The FBI has previously characterized CAIR as a “front group” for Hamas, adding weight to the concerns raised by Abbott. The declaration also claims that CAIR acts as a subsidiary of the Muslim Brotherhood, with members allegedly involved in activities that promote terrorism.

By officially designating these groups as foreign terrorist organizations, individuals associated with them could face significant legal repercussions. Furthermore, their affiliates would be barred from purchasing property within Texas.

Abbott expressed his disapproval of the actions taken by both organizations, emphasizing that their endeavors to support terrorism and undermine Texas laws using violence and intimidation are intolerable. “These extremists are not welcome in our country,” he asserted, underscoring measures taken to prevent them from investing in real estate in Texas.

Rep. Beth Van Dine, a Texas Republican, responded to Abbott’s declaration, stating on social media that she has long opposed CAIR and similar groups, which she feels represent a threat to American values. She firmly believes that all government levels must collaborate to halt the presence of Islamists in the country, articulating concerns over their influence.

She concluded her remarks with a stark assertion against the establishment of Islamic courts or the dominance of certain neighborhoods, declaring, quite emphatically, that such entities “must never take root.”
