The bodies of a missing Texas woman and her 3-year-old son who were the subject of an Amber Alert have been found, and their deaths may have been a murder-suicide, authorities said Tuesday.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the deaths of Savannah Samantha Kriger, 32, and Kaiden Kriger are being investigated as homicides. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the body was found in a ditch near Tom Slick Park.

“Right now, we’re acting on the assumption that it’s Savannah and the child,” he told reporters at the scene. “There is some evidence that some gunshots may have been fired.
The sheriff’s office said Savannah Kriger is considered a suspect, adding that investigators do not believe there are “any outstanding suspects.”
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Salazar said Kriger and the boy’s father are involved in an ongoing custody battle, with a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

Officials said Kriger and the child were last seen early Monday morning when she left work and picked up Kaiden from the daycare center to take him to a medical appointment.
Salazar said her relatives became worried because they couldn’t reach her and her phone’s GPS was turned off.
The child’s father is cooperating with the investigation.
