A Texas woman allegedly dragged her child into the bathroom, forced his face into the toilet bowl and forced him to drink water, police said.
Claudia Veredias-Bonifagi was arrested Wednesday after the boy in her care told school officials about the abuse. This was announced by the Woodway Police Department..
Police said the boy showed up at school sobbing and told teachers and counselors that he had been dragged by his hair to the bathroom, his head pressed against the toilet, where he was made to drink water from the toilet.
He also said she tore out some of her hair in the process.
Woodway Police and Child Protective Services investigated the situation further and learned that the boy was the victim of several other “violent incidents.”
Police said the abuse included “being beaten, hit with various objects, and not being fed for long periods of time.”
Police said the child was placed with a relative for her safety. Her relationship with Beledias Bonifazi is unknown, but police said he was under her care.
The newspaper contacted the Woodway Police Department for additional information.
The ministry said it was “an excellent workforce school official who became aware of this investigation and brought it forward.”
