A mother in Texas sealed her 7-year-old relative's mouth with duct tape and locked her in a cage under a Christmas tree for hours.
Single mother Rose Anderson tied up her little girl with zip ties in her Houston home as “discipline” for her “behavior at school.” According to court documents obtained by ABC13.described the young people only as relatives.
Doctors said she kicked the girl, kept her captive for hours without food, water or toilets, and forced her to urinate on herself.
The girl was eventually released, but Anderson will likely face a felony charge of unlawful restraint and spend time in prison, the newspaper reported. She is being held in the Harris County Jail on $10,000 bail after an initial hearing Sunday.
“It was strange to me,” neighbor Ronnie Hatchett said of the accusations of brutal punishment.
“What's with Time Out? Take away one of my Christmas presents, but don't take away the dog cage. Come on!”
Anderson was described as a single mother who worked three jobs.
