Prosecutors have reported that a young Thai model was violently assaulted and abducted at a metro station in Brooklyn by a former bail jumper.
On June 22, Jin Laxussty, 26, was at the Chauncy Street station in Bushwick when Lewis Doctor, 54, allegedly seized her by the throat and slammed her against the wall.
According to the complaint, Doctor then forcibly threw her to the ground, continued to assault her, and even placed a ring on her finger before inflicting further harm.
He reportedly fled the scene with Raksasutee’s iPhone, AirPods, handbag, debit card, hard drive, and other valuable possessions.
The assailant was arrested three days later, but Laksashti expressed her deep pain from the incident.
“I’m grateful to be alive and surrounded by those who support my healing. I hope my story can help others stay safe,” she stated through her attorney.
“If nothing is done, this could happen to anyone.”
Raksasutee has recorded sounds of the attack as she struggled, pleading for mercy from her assailant.
“Please, please,” she could be heard begging.
Images obtained show Laxussty with cuts on her chin, with blood evident on her neck and chest.
Her experience bears a troubling resemblance to an incident involving another Thai model who was violently assaulted on a subway platform in Manhattan in 2021.
This earlier victim, then 23, had also experienced a brutal attack, enduring a headlock while her wallet was taken at Herald Square station.
“How many times do we have to face the same nightmare before real action replaces empty promises?” questioned the victim’s attorney, Eric Parnes. “It’s time for definitive measures rather than excuses for the criminal.”
Parnes noted that Laksashty was a recent arrival from Thailand, here for about a year and a half, studying English and working on her modeling portfolio.
The assailant is facing serious charges including first-degree assault and robbery, with the potential for a 25-year prison sentence if convicted.
Previously, Doctor was released on a $5,000 bail after being arrested in January 2024 for using a BB gun in a robbery, according to Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.
In this latest incident, the suspect remains in custody with a bail set at $50,000.
State records indicate that Doctor has faced multiple robbery charges from 1998 to 2022.
