‘Thank You to the United States of America’

Israeli government spokesperson David Mensah wished the American people and the U.S. government a happy Thanksgiving, adding that the State of Israel is grateful to the American people for their continued support.

“We are extremely grateful for our steadfast commitment, friendship and solidarity with the United States,” Mensah said. “They have been by our side through the hard times and the good times, and there has never been a better time than these last 419 days.”

He said Israelis will never forget President Joe Biden's united visit to Israel days after the October 7 terrorist attack, and said Israel also looks forward to President-elect Donald Trump's administration. He added that

Mensah insisted that Israel would strongly implement the ceasefire agreement, but said the ceasefire in southern Lebanon remained in place.

On Wednesday, four Hezbollah fighters were arrested as they tried to return to southern Lebanon among civilians returning to their homelands. On Thursday, it carried out several airstrikes against Hezbollah vehicles and facilities where terrorists were observed attempting to continue their operations.

Mr. Mensah cited Israel's achievements in the Third Lebanon War. Israel destroyed Hezbollah's leadership. Many of the weapons were destroyed. and prevented attacks like the one on October 7 against northern Israel. Additionally, the Israeli government noted that the war eliminated Hezbollah as a deterrent to protect Iran from Israeli attacks on the regime's nuclear program.

But critics say Israeli residents living in the north still don't feel safe enough to return to their homeland and say they have to flee when Hezbollah begins firing on Israel in October 2023. It is said that it did not happen.

Mr. Mensah praised the work of Israel's many reservists. Some of them have spent months away from their families and jobs to join professional soldiers in the Israeli Regular Army in the fight against the evil of terrorism.
