CNN political commentator Van Jones said Thursday during CNN’s post-election debate that President Joe Biden’s debate performance was so bad that Democrats should continue with the debates without him.
“It’s been tough. I love Joe Biden. I worked for Joe Biden. He didn’t do a good job at all. He didn’t do a good job at all,” Jones said.
She added, “Let’s break it down. It’s old man versus con man. I can tell you how to look at it and what to say, but I love him with all my heart. He’s a good man and he loves his country. He’s doing his best. But tonight was a test to restore the trust of the country and his base and he failed to do that. I think there are many who hope that he would now consider a different path. The convention is still a long way off. This party has time to find another way forward, if he will allow it. But that’s not what we wanted from Joe Biden and it was personally painful for a lot of people. It’s not just panic, it’s pain of what we saw tonight.”
